Enable downloads
Enabling download progress and history is a management task handled outside of the Admin Console. It is off by default and must be turned on for your organization by HERE. Contact your HERE representative or email HERE support to request either of the following settings, which are independent of each other:
-
Download progress and history: Shows a Downloads button in the toolbar of every HERE window, a download list with recent downloads, and a Downloads item in the window menu that opens the full download history. Users who restore a saved window also get these features after they are turned on.
-
Save without prompting: Saves downloaded files to the user's Downloads folder instead of asking the user where to save each file. The setting is a list of rules; each rule gives one or more URL patterns and whether matching downloads save without prompting or prompt the user. Patterns are matched against the URL of the downloaded file, which is often a file-hosting or content delivery network (CDN) address, not the address of the page where the user started the download. This setting requires domain settings to be enabled for your organization.
Access to download hosts
Downloads are subject to the same access rules as other web content. The host that a file is downloaded from must be in the allowed domains of a web content item assigned to the user. Use the bare host name, not a URL limited to a specific path. If the user does not have access to the host, the download link opens in the user's default web browser instead of in HERE.
Download controls
If your organization uses Keep Aware, its download controls continue to apply. HERE does not provide its own controls for blocking downloads by file type, website, or user.
