Downloads

HERE Enterprise Browser shows your downloads the same way other web browsers do. You can see when a download starts, follow its progress, open the file when it finishes, and find files you downloaded earlier, all without leaving HERE.

info

Download progress and history is available only if your organization has turned it on. If you don't see a Downloads item in the window menu, contact your HERE administrator.

Follow a download

When a download starts, a Downloads button appears in the toolbar of every HERE window, to the left of the extensions and notifications buttons. The button shows the progress of active downloads. Hover over it to see a summary.

When a download finishes, the download list opens automatically under the Downloads button. If you have more than one HERE window open, the list opens in the window you used most recently. You can still click the Downloads button in any other window to open the list there.

Downloads started from an app in a supertab or a view work the same way as downloads started from a single tab. They appear in the window that contains the app.

Open a downloaded file

In the download list, you can do the following:

  • Click a finished download to open the file.
  • Use the download's options to show the file in its folder (Show in folder on Microsoft Windows, Show in Finder on macOS).
  • Cancel a download that is still in progress.

Find earlier downloads

Click the Downloads button to see your recent downloads.

To see your full download history, including files you downloaded in earlier sessions, open the Downloads page in either of these ways:

  • In the download list, click Show all downloads.
  • In the window menu, select Downloads. It is directly below Find in Page.

The Downloads button disappears from the toolbar when you clear all downloads from the list, and about an hour after you last used the list. You can always reach the Downloads page from the window menu.

The Downloads page opens as a new tab in the current supertab, so it does not replace any of your open tabs. If the Downloads page is already open in the window, HERE switches to it instead of opening another one. If the current supertab is locked, the Downloads page opens in a separate window.

In the address bar, the Downloads page appears as downloads/. Click the address bar to see its full address, chrome://downloads/.

Where downloaded files are saved

Depending on how your organization has set up HERE, one of the following happens when you download a file:

  • HERE saves the file to your computer's Downloads folder without asking.
  • HERE asks you where to save the file.

To find a file again, use the download list or the Downloads page, or open your Downloads folder (or the folder you chose) on your computer.

Downloads that don't appear

Your organization controls which websites you can use in HERE, and that includes the websites downloads come from.

  • If a download comes from a website you don't have access to in HERE, the link opens in your computer's default web browser instead. The download does not appear in HERE.
  • If your organization uses Keep Aware, its download controls still apply. A download that Keep Aware blocks might not appear in the download list.

If you expect a download that doesn't appear, contact your HERE administrator.
