HERE Zero

HERE Zero is a web-based platform that offers a lightweight subset of the features of HERE Enterprise Browser, running in a regular web browser such as Chrome, Edge, or Safari. It can also be deployed as a progressive web app (PWA) to desktop or tablet devices.

Key features​

  • Supertabs: A tab of the browser functions as a Supertab, with web apps embedded within it. Administrators can define and customize layouts to display content in a manner that best suits user needs.
  • Interoperability: Web content within HERE Zero can interoperate with other applications using HERE APIs, which are compatible with FDC3 (Financial Desktop Connectivity and Collaboration Consortium). The HERE Core Web package ensures robust and reliable communication between apps running in HERE Zero, even across multiple browser windows.
  • Search: HERE Zero provides search capabilities that allow users to find content or take action.
  • New tab page: Offers featured content shortcuts and HERE-specific search.
  • Quick-access toolbar: A vertical toolbar on the right side of the tab provides one-click access to supertabs and content.
  • HERE Enterprise Browser compatibility: Content displayed within HERE Zero is compatible with the HERE Enterprise Browser desktop application, providing cross-platform consistency. Configurations of users, groups, content, and so on, defined in the HERE Admin Console applies to both HERE Zero and HERE Enterprise Browser.

Differences from HERE Enterprise Browser​

Because HERE Zero runs in a general web browser, its functionality is more limited than that of HERE Enterprise Browser.

Lack of content protection​

HERE Enterprise Browser enables admins to restrict users from transferring content to other programs, by selectively preventing copy/paste, printing, screen-sharing, and screen shots. HERE Zero does not offer this protection, as it cannot prevent the web browser from performing these operations.

Supertab content​

HERE Zero uses iframes to create the embedded tabs of a supertab. Some applications restrict the use of their content within an iframe and therefore cannot be embedded. In such a case, the application can be displayed in HERE Zero as a top-level tab or in a pop-up window. It can still participate in interoperability using the HERE Core Web interoperability API.

Bookmarks​

HERE Zero does not support bookmarks, as the web browser provides this functionality.

AI Center​

HERE Zero does not support AI Center.
